About Our Emerging Artist Residency
Foci MCGA welcomes emerging glass artists from the greater Minnesota area to apply for a 3 month glass studio residency to explore, create, and experiment in glass processes. The resident artist(s) has access to the primary studio of their choice in either kilnforming, hot glass working, flameworking, or neon, and will have additional access to our coldworking and mold making studios. Residency includes 24-hour studio access, access to an assistant, and a personal workspace and storage area. Resident artists will have the opportunity to share their work with an artist lecture open to the public.
Artist’s submitted artworks should strongly demonstrate an understanding of and curiosity for the material of glass by showing a proficiency in technique and the use of glass as a vehicle for conceptual explorations. Submitted artwork should use glass as a primary material and can be presented in the form of object and sculpture, installation, performance, video, and new-media.
