Join us at Foci Minnesota Center for Glass Arts for our holiday open house! We will be offering a couple different seasonal activities including free glassblowing demonstrations and an opportunity to design your very own glassblown ornament. Our glass art gallery will be open for last-minute holiday gift purchases.

Design Your Own Glass Ornament: Sign up in-person to work with a professional glassblower to select the color of your own custom glassblown ornament! After selecting the colors and patterning, watch it get created in real time right before your eyes! $50.00/ornament. Walk-ins only. First come, first serve. Takes approx. 15 minutes. Hands-off experience. Only offered 12/21/24 from 11am-6pm.
Ornament Pickup Instructions: Due to glass needing to be cooled gradually in a kiln, you cannot leave with your ornament the day of your experience. We will have a designated pickup slot on Sunday 12/22/24 from 12pm-6pm, otherwise you will need to pick it up following our holiday closure when we reopen on 1/7/25. All ornaments must be picked up by 2/1/25, or they will be recycled.
Watch Free Glassblowing Demonstrations: Warm up and observe glassblowing in action at the Foci MCGA hotshop! This is a great opportunity to watch professional glass artists work together to create their artwork, and gain some insight into the process. Questions are welcome. Free and open to the public. Seating is provided. 12/21/24 12pm-4pm.

Our entrance is facing E 22nd St, beside a garage door and a small parking lot that is free to use. Additional free parking is available on the surrounding streets. One block to Hwy 55/Hiawatha Ave. Two blocks to entrance to I-94. Two blocks to Franklin LRT Station.
Metro Transit
Nearest bus stops are #56504 (22nd St E & Cedar Ave S) and #16444 (Minnehaha Ave S & 22nd St E), both on Route 9. Nearest light rail station is on Franklin Avenue (Blue Line). Both stops are within a five minute walk from the studio.

Please note that the glassblowing space (or 'hotshop') has very strong ventilation system which is used to manage the heat, so the environment may be somewhat noisy.
