Join featured exhibition artist Jo Andersson in the hot shop for a glass blowing demo! Jo will work in the Foci Minnesota Center for Glass Arts studio to demonstrate some of the techniques featured in her work in the 2023 exhibition Fluidity: Identity in Swedish Glass. While observing Jo at work you’ll have the opportunity to ask questions and learn a little about glass blowing!

Two times slots are available to manage capacity; you may arrive and leave any time during these times slots. Please note that Foci MCGA is a working glass studio and other artists will be using the same space. Appropriate for ages 8+; children must be accompanied by a registered adult at all times.

Artist Biography

Growing up in the US with Swedish parents who are both entrepreneurs, Andersson chose the creative path. After completing her Bachelor’s, she worked for different artists in Seattle, WA, before moving across the Atlantic. Following her completion of a Master of Arts from Konstfack, Andersson exhibited at, and been represented by, Galleri Duerr in Stockholm. She was awarded the coveted Bernadotte Stipendium in Design in 2021. Jo continues to live in Sweden, where she practices and teaches in the region of Småland.
